I absolutely agree. My question is, though: why place Hexagram 1 at 13°15' Scorpio? Why that specific placement? I know he said "Because the Voice said so" but somehow, I don't find that to be a satisfying answer. If Human Design is pure mechanics, there should be a logical and mechanical explanation for the synthesis as well. I have been able to find a logical explanation for about every element in the synthesis except for two things: Hexagram 1 in Scorpio 13°15' and the structuring of the 64 hexagrams on the body graph (which was also a "Because the Voice said so" thing). Those two things are still a mystery to me. Any theories?
My basic theory on these questions: there is a purpose and meaning to these things, but we have to discover them by using the system. How the hexagrams build the structure of the centers and channels and the starting point of the I Ching Wheel on the ecliptic are really the heart of Human Design. These are the most fundamental points that create Human Design, which means that they are the deepest and most mysterious, the least obvious and most impervious to casual observation. To truly understand them I think we must first simply accept them and then use and test the system and in doing so we will find many meanings in them.
But I don't currently have any specific theories about the specific meanings behind them.
The structure of the hexagrams into centers and their connections by channels I think is an easier problem in some ways, because when I look at the bodygraph, I see the hexagrams *creating* the centers, and thereby the channels. So I think it is fundamental to have an understanding of how the I Ching works (not Ra's Rave I Ching -- we need to use the actual I Ching) and through that we can start to understand how these hexagrams, for example, build the Sacral center and how they function therein, etc.
The structure of the hexagrams and their relationships create the bodygraph, so to understand the bodygraph we really need to start with the hexagrams, and allow what we see on the bodygraph to be a template or a roadmap that leads us to understand how the hexagrams build the bodygraph.
The question of why hexagram 1 on the I Ching Wheel starts at 13:15 Scorpio is less obvious. My inclination would be to try to understand how or if the signs and hexagrams relate. I think this relationship could be important is understanding how the hexagrams build the centers. Obviously, if hexagram 1 started somewhere else, this would change everything, so I think this shows a beginning point for contemplation and experimentation.
I think the signs are important, even though we may not need to use them explicitly, I think they are included in the diagram of the bodygraph as a way to help us understand what is going on in the bodygraph.
I completely agree that it's necessary also to use the "actual" I Ching, instead of Ra's Rave I'Ching, in order to understand how the I Ching works.
I'm in the process of diving into all the modalities of the synthesis for the reasons you named in your reply. Of course, it's something that takes time, patience, and a deeper understanding. So, I'm curious about what I will discover, but also, what other people discover, but I don't know many people who are actually going that deep and into the experience of where the synthesis points to. Most people seem to just adopt what "Ra said" as beliefs that condition their lives, rather than move into the space before the mind is even conscious of how to interpret this experience. Thank you for taking the time to reply to my questions :-)
