What is Revealed Human Design?
Returning to the roots of Human Design
I was conditioned to believe that ‘science fiction’ was a genre of literature, that mystical revelation was simply a more antiquated form of the same, and that God, if not dead, was most likely a concept.
On the evening of January 3, 1987, all of that changed. I was ‘penetrated’ by a ‘Voice’. It was a terrifying experience. My hair literally stood up on end, in the shock, a flood of water drained from my scalp. The Voice said, ‘Are you ready to work?’
For eight days and nights, I worked, transcribing in detail the Human Design System.

Revealed Human Design is an effort is return to the roots of the Human Design System as explained by the Voice. The intention is to focus on the elements of the system that I can be certain were transmitted by the Voice, and to eschew those aspects that appear, to the best of my knowledge, to be later additions sprung from the mind of Robert Alan Krakower, the man who, after the experience described above, called himself Ra Uru Hu.
The above quote indicates that he “transcribed” the Human Design System. He must have written down what the Voice told him. I would very much like to see these original documents, but I have not been able to ascertain whether such documents even still exist. (If you know whether they do or not, or have any other information regarding them, please leave a comment or email me. I have asked a number of people, and none of them have directly answered that question.2)
Consequently, I must use circumstantial evidence, as well as the logical and intuitive faculties that I possess, to determine what I will regard as having been directly transmitted by the Voice, and what I will regard as coming primarily from the mind of Ra.3
This is a very important distinction. A revelation is properly understood as being given by a benevolent extra-human power for the good of all humanity. Something from the mind of one individual should not be regarded in the same way. The question of what specifically the Voice conveyed, and what is Ra’s interpretation or elaboration, is fundamental.
My primary evidence in this matter will be The Human Design System and from The Book of Letters4, the first two books the Ra wrote about Human Design, as well as a video recording of one of Ra’s first Human Design lectures in America.
I consider that most of the information conveyed in The Human Design System is true to the original revelation given by the Voice. The exception is the “Rave I Ching”. The Jovian Archive specifically states “In 1989, after his encounter with the Voice, Ra Uru Hu wrote the Rave I’Ching”. It seems logical that the channel names given in that book are also Ra’s invention.5
I distinguish two areas of knowledge in the Revelation. One is cosmology. The other is mechanics.
The cosmology describes how the universe was created and how human beings are born and endowed with qualities. These include such concepts as the neutrino system, the “Design Crystal”, the “Personality Crystal”, and the “Magnetic Monopole”. It is, essentially, a creation myth.
The second area of the Revelation is much more familiar to those involved with Human Design. This is the area of mechanics, which is the foundation for the practical use of the system.
The components of this are: the overlay of the I Ching Wheel6 onto the tropical zodiac7, the bodygraph8, the concept of definition9, and the concept of conditioning.
That is all. That is all that the Voice revealed. The Voice simply revealed how the I Ching could be used as an astrological system. It showed how to determine the placement of planets with respect to the I Ching, and what a natal I Ching astrology chart looks like, which is the bodygraph, composed of nine centers connected by channels, and gave some basic understanding of how these work.
I believe that these elements in themselves are a vast world that is largely unexplored. To dig deeply into the I Ching, the way specific planets active hexagrams, the way hexagrams construct centers, the way centers are connected through channels, the way that all these elements interact, and beyond, is the goal. I believe that the most common use and description of Human Design fails to adequately understand and apply these fundamental elements of the system. These basic components have a profound depth that we have barely even begun to understand. The goal of Revealed Human Design is to start looking deeply into these foundations.
What Isn’t Part of Revealed Human Design
If you are familiar with Human Design at all, you probably know the words Type, Strategy, Authority, Profile, Incarnation Cross, among others. You’ll notice that I didn’t include these as part of Revealed Human Design. That is because they are not.
Ra’s I Ching, the channel names, circuits, Type, Strategy, Authority, and everything came that after that are NOT part of Revealed Human Design. I believe that the Voice said nothing about these things. Type, Strategy, and Authority were created in the mind of Ra, loosely based on the bodygraph, and should not be considered as part of the Revelation. All of these concepts are prime elements of what I will call “Jovianism”, after the Jovian Archive, a company founded by Ra and his family. In my opinion, Jovianism is not properly Human Design, but a cult based on Ra Uru Hu.
Corroboration
The content of the Revelation as I have understood it from Ra’s writings are corroborated by his first two students in America, Zeno Dickson and Chaitanyo Taschler.
A friend visited them from Europe in 1993 and brought them their Human Design bodygraphs which had been drawn by Ra. They were very interested and a few months later they hosted Ra at their home in Taos, New Mexico, helping him to present the Human Design System for the first time in America. They became his students for a number of years and were witness to a pivotal time in Human Design history.
Their experience and knowledge demonstrate that in fact the cosmology and mechanics presented in The Human Design System were the complete revelation as given by the Voice, with everything introduced after that being of unknown origin.

They also wrote a book called Human Design Revealed, which will be a primary source for me as I delve into the original revelation.

update (03/23/24) - I emailed Chaitanyo Taschler, who is mentioned in this article, asking about this. He replied, (quote) According to Ra, he burned his notes shortly as his experience “because I thought I was crazy.” (endquote) So, that is “interesting”, let’s say. I have some thoughts and feelings about this that I haven’t quite processed yet.

if Ra wrote an I Ching to name the hexagrams, it follows that he would have then named the channels, which connect two hexagrams
I believe that the order and structure of the hexagrams arranged in a wheel is an ancient construction, not something given by the Voice. I need to verify this.
